Public Information Workshops:

Interstate 80 Overcrossing Construction
Caltrans is hosting a series of Public Information Open Houses throughout Placer County regarding an upcoming construction project that will increase the vertical clearance of eight overcrossings and one railroad underpass on Interstate 80 in Placer County. The overall goal of the project is to improve conditions for commerce on I-80 through Placer County by bringing vertical clearance up to the current standard of 16 feet 6 inches.

Community impacts include:

  • Overcrossings may be closed for up to 2 months
  • Local traffic will be detoured during these closures
  • I-80 traffic may also be detoured for brief periods
